An Interview with Le Soul! 🏳️‍🌈

Tell readers a little about you! Where are you from? What's something fun about your hometown?

My name is Le Soul. I am a creative artist from Brooklyn, NYC. Brooklyn is one the epitomes for music and culture. I used to always be around cypher sessions, graffiti, artwork, fashion, and black excellence growing up. I knew whatever I chose to be was going to be something colorful and artistic. Born in the early 90’s, I feel like I am finally finding myself and feel like I am coming more into myself, my talent, and who I am supposed to be in this world.

You're part of the music duo Forever Soul Live with Forever Born New. How did you two meet and get into the music industry?

We met through mutual friends who knew we had the same interests. I used to manage FBN Witty when he moved to NYC. Us pushing our art and craft together, formed a great bond and love between each other. Six plus years later, we are still together and pushing our life’s purpose.

You're a painter, a poet, a musician, and you're also very passionate about weed! But where does your true passion lie in all these things?

My true passion lies in bringing people together. You can be whatever you like to be and embody all aspects of you. Sometimes I get writer's block, so I paint my emotions out. Curating events is therapy for me. Bringing like minded individuals together is one of the greatest talents I have.

You identify as bisexual. When did you realize you were queer? Does it play a role in your artistry at all?

I have been bisexual since I was a child. I grew into my poly side in adulthood. I always felt different growing up and knew I was not like other children. I feel like my queerness definitely plays a role in my art. I put a lot of empowerment for women in my work. I also speak a lot about togetherness and community within everything I write. Being different makes me more understanding of the plights others have to go through.

This year you worked with us for the Black Girl Poetry Scrapbook Volume 4. And we loved your work! Do you have any other published writing? If so, where can readers find it?

Yes, I do. I am published with Denver Voyage, The Clatchet Stories, The Art of Photography (Skin Project), Keeper of Stories, The Elegant Gutter, and more. I am also working on a Poetry Book and a Neo-Soul EP right now.

Like me, you're from the East Coast so I know moving to Vegas was very eye-opening and a huge change for you. What's it been like navigating the West Coast scene?

It has been interesting, challenging, humbling and fun. I think moving to any city outside of your hometown is an eye opening experience. You have to humbly adapt to the way of life of this new place and everyone around you. I have learned home is where your spirit resides. I have made friends and family in every city I live in. I have also learned, it is okay to not have everything together as of yet when you move from home. However, stay focused and steadfast to your goal and imprint you are leaving.

One of my favorite songs of yours is Wildflower. What goes into writing your music and where do you draw your inspiration from?

I draw a lot of my inspiration from soulful artists and poets that I resonate with. Also, I write a lot about my feelings since sometimes it is hard to communicate with others. In NYC, I used to write my best works on crowded trains. The hustle and bustle and calm chaos used to relax me to create beautiful work. Some of my best pieces come from pain, purpose, and life experiences.

Where can readers find all of your music & art?

You can find me on all streaming music platforms as Le Soul. You can find Forever Soul Live content on Youtube, Instagram, Facebook, Onlyfans, and TikTok. You can find Forever Born New content through the same. Or you can google me.

Do you have any upcoming projects?

Working on a poetry book and Neo-Soul EP at the moment. Also, getting into comedy this year so stay tuned for that. I have a lot of shows coming up and currently I am on my Summer Forever 2.0 open mic tour which ends off with a curated show in NYC. A Lot of new vibes coming up so stay tapped in.

This last one, I just gotta know… are you an edibles girl🍪 or a smoking girl? 🪴 Tell us your favorite way to “relax” LOL.

I am a smoker/dab/bong girl. My tolerance is so high so I feel like edibles do not do it for me as much but I enjoy eating them lol
